I lost consciousness a few minutes after Tobirama and I reached our destination. I found myself in my inner world, where something truly global was happening. The frosty wind immediately hit me in the face, causing me to involuntarily cover myself with my hand. The skin on my face immediately burned in several places. They were small particles of snow that had melted on my face. They brought an unpleasant wave of goosebumps. It was just unexpected for me. Such a change of scenery is just unusual, because just a few seconds ago I was in a warm climate, and now it was as if I was in the far north, where snow is a sign that it is warm outside. And I knew that perfectly well, but from where! I don't remember living in the north.
- Ah-ha-ha! - sounded a child's voice. I didn't even realise where the laughter was coming from, but after a few seconds it happened again and I realised that it was happening in my head. I covered my ears, trying to do something..... I was willing to do anything to make this abnormal laughter stop.... It was driving me crazy, weighing on me mentally, creating so much pressure inside my head that I felt like it was about to burst from the strain. With every second the laughter was getting more sinister and louder.....
- Stop it! - I shouted, unable to bear the torment, for there was no other way to call it that. To my joy and surprise, the laughter subsided, remaining only an echo in my subconscious. The storm had died down a short distance from me, giving me the opportunity to move without blindness. The path had already been laid out for me and I had no choice. In the distance I could see a house. It looked very old. It was one story. It was made of wood, some of which was already rotten. As I approached it, I realised that it was leaning to the right side, which was not a good sign for its occupants. It's an unremarkable house, but why is it so familiar to me?! This is the first time I've ever seen it. What's going on here? I stood on the doorstep for a few minutes with conflicting feelings. However, I felt that something was wrong. I looked around and discovered an amazing picture. Right before my eyes, the sun was beginning to set over the horizon. It was getting dimmer and dimmer by the second. I watched it for a full minute until it was completely below the horizon. A thick and cold darkness covered the area, through which I couldn't see anything, but I didn't need to. I felt that there was someone or something out there. A scraping sound was heard, very unpleasant and frightening. The creature in the darkness was cowering, devouring me with its gaze. I'm the prey, and there in the darkness. sits the true hunter, just waiting for me to step away from the light. Wait, light? Where is the light coming from?! I turned to the door again, finding that the light had come on in the windows of the house. I touched the doorknob and then ran inside, forgetting my past thoughts. Only one feeling enveloped me now...a feeling of fear, and a panic that came out of nowhere. But no... it didn't just come out of nowhere. That creature in the darkness, it clearly wasn't afraid of the light and somehow I knew it, which is why I just didn't understand what it was expecting. Before the face of death and danger, the human brain begins to work several times more intensively, trying to find a solution containing even the slightest... slightest chance of salvation. My heart increased its rhythm to an abnormal rate, sending as much blood to the brain as possible so that the controlling organ would make the right decision. Gathering my thoughts, I decided to walk round the house. I wanted to find the owners who lived in it, for my mind was a mess right now, the consequence of which was a lack of understanding of what was going on. I had too little information to realise the chaos going on around me. Thoughts of being in a new world never left me, but damn it, why was everything so familiar? Why have I been in this house before? Why do I know that if I go to the right, I'll come out into the kitchen connected to a semblance of a hall, and if I go to the left, I'll get to the bathroom and the pantry? How do I know all this? There are many questions, but no answers, and there is no answer to any of them. Going through all the rooms, I found no one. At the end there was only a pantry, which I very much did not want to go into, but why? I didn't know the answer to that question myself. I had already reached for the knob, but quickly jerked my limb away, taking a few steps backwards. My instincts literally screamed danger.
- Pull yourself together. You're a grown man. No matter what's behind that door, you can handle it. - I said out loud, to stop the shaking in my hands from the rising panic. I don't understand what's going on here, so I have to figure out what the hell is going on.... It's the only way I can make decisions and no other way. Touching the door handle, I slowly turned it, and then, gathering my will in my fist, pushed the door open with an unpleasant creak. A horrifying picture appeared before my eyes. My breakfast began to come to my throat, and my legs involuntarily began to shake from what I saw. The picture was very unpleasant: two corpses lying on the floor. A middle-aged man and a middle-aged woman. Their bodies were no longer recognisable. They were so mutilated that it was hard to tell which sex they were. Their limbs were scattered in different corners of the storeroom, and their bellies were pierced by something very sharp. Blood was stained all over everything. But that wasn't the strangest part. In the centre of the room was a lullaby with the words "Victor" engraved on it.
- What?!" I said out loud, not realising where I was. I could have kept standing like that, but I sensed danger. A cold murderous intent was spreading from someone behind me. I quickly looked around, taking one of my protective stands. Standing at the very beginning of the corridor was a monster, staring at me with a look that sent shivers down my spine. He was letting out such a thirst for death and blood into the air that I had to take a few steps backwards, stepping inside the storeroom. The monster's eyes glowed bright white, even in the light of the lamps in the room. Describing its appearance was very difficult. The top of the creature remotely resembled a human. There was a head, over which some sort of helmet was worn. All of the monster's skin was black as coal, and on its arms stretched some sharp blades, most likely being its main weapon and part of its armour. The lower part of its body was a black smoke. This monster was like a sinister dark spirit that came from the most horrible corner of the universe. The creature suddenly made a dash at an inhuman speed towards me. All I saw was a black blur rushing towards me.... too fast. I wouldn't have time to defend myself against its lunge. But another amazing thing happened: something behind me began to spread a bright white glow with a tinge of blue. The evil spirit stopped abruptly, and began to cover himself with his hands. He clearly didn't like the glow. Stepping back a few steps, it stared at me, as if waiting for something. The monster was hit by some kind of blue orb, throwing it back outside the house.
Fear faded into the background and I became interested. I ran out of the house. A long ditch stretched from the house, made obviously by the carcass of a monster that had already assumed its usual position, levitating above the ground. Ten metres away from it stood a man with blue skin that was covered from head to toe in runes.... they were very familiar to me... The unknown man was shaved bald. He had no outer garments, and behind his back was a rather large scroll, attached by a strap. Underneath, however, were plain grey trousers with boots. In his hands he held some sort of book that had at least five hundred pages in it. His gaze was confident and cold. He was not afraid of the creature in front of him, although the latter deliberately began to gnash his long and sharp daggers in his hands, showing that he was to be feared. For a few seconds they looked at each other in silence, waiting for something. The evil spirit was the first to attack, launching its swift attack. I still couldn't follow his movements, watching only the black, blurred silhouette. He was too fast, perhaps even faster than before. The unknown reacted to the attack by doing a somersault to the side. It took the monster a few moments to slow down after its lunge, executed at breakneck speed, but its opponent, immediately, took advantage of this hiccup. As soon as the creature turned around, stalling its movement, the man activated magic, creating a sort of cage, preventing the spirit from even moving. Everything underneath the monster began to glow a blue-blue colour, and then the book in the man's hands opened on its own.... Magic symbols, already known to the hero, began to fly out of it, because he had put them on his skin long ago. All of them began to gather into a blue ball, which took less than a second to fully form. The attack flew towards the spirit that was trying to free itself from the cage. The monster managed to break the magical prison, but it was too late. His opponent's attack, although it could not boast of high speed, was at too close a distance. Receiving a direct hit from that blue sphere, the monster immediately disintegrated into dust particles. The man exhaled heavily and then headed towards home. He didn't even pay attention to me as he headed towards the room with the baby. I had forgotten about the baby. As I entered the closet after him, I saw a glowing orb hovering above the child's head. The unknown man tried to touch the orb, but a force invisible to the eye pushed him away.
- What?" he asked the question aloud with incomprehension. I could read surprise in his eyes. The man made a few more attempts, but even using magic, he couldn't take the orb away.
- It was the first time I'd ever seen such a thing. The rune chose its own guardian. It's very strange. - He spoke his thoughts, starting to frown. He wanted to use some kind of spell on the child, but this orb just threw him aside. - I see, I'll find you parents then, Victor. - The man added, lifting the infant in his arms. The sphere of unknown origin penetrated the child's body, but the latter didn't even notice it.
After that, everything around me began to lose its colours and I found myself in a pure white space, which after a dozen seconds began to transform again, transforming the familiar features of my laboratory. Morgana appeared on her own at the very end of the lab's formation. We had a dialogue....
