Arc Two. Travelling through the Land of Fire. Chapter 7. An ambush on the road.

I was glad that nothing had happened to us during the rest of the journey to the Senju Clan. Even though we only had one day to go, I was incapacitated during that time. Regeneration had slowed down a lot. Still, I am a normal human being and I too needed rest, though that was for now. When I am able to activate the seal, then the arsenal of techniques I use will greatly increase. Why can't I use these ninjutsu now? There are two valid reasons. Firstly, these techniques are very chakra-intensive for me at the moment.
Even using one such jutsu can use up all of my chakra at once. Then you might ask the logical question, "How did I create such destructive ninjutsu since I am unable to practice them?". The answer will be horribly trivial, oddly enough. All of my incredible ninjutsu is based on an understanding of technology from a past life. In my past life, I studied magic and its uses very well, so I know exactly how in this world I can realise chakra features. In fact, I wouldn't have been so confident in my words if Morgana hadn't assured me that such a thing was possible. It even makes me happy that she is always by my side. At first
I was uncomfortable with the idea that my thoughts were being read, that my imagination and memory could be scanned, but all of that went away with time. I realised that she wasn't really human, but I still wondered who she was and why she was helping me... It made me mistrust her, but throughout our relationship Morgana had never lied to me, moreover she always had a point of view on a situation. Her arguments were always accurate and painful. It was too hard to argue with her, but even so, she always left the decision up to me. She was like a counsellor who constantly watched over me, protecting me from all difficult situations. She always warned me of the dangers and potential consequences of my decisions, even if she didn't always explain how she knew them. We didn't share the same bond that Yumiko and I did. No-no... It was a forced union, for the sake of survival, in which I was obligated to trust her and she to trust me. Though I admit I grew attached to her. It was hard to say the same for her. I even sometimes felt like she was just goofing around most of the time just to piss me off.
- Well, Mi-kun..." the girl in my subconscious stretched out.
- No. Don't even think about it. - I said coldly, trying to keep my composure.
- I won't piss you off for another month," Morgana tried to bargain, looking at me with puppy dog eyes. It was unbearably hard. She'd been blowing my mind for the second hour already, because of her whim. I couldn't leave my subconscious so easily, because Yumi was waiting for me outside, and I had a serious conversation to have with her
- Okay..." I gave up, exhaling all the negativity I'd accumulated in one breath. - I'll set up a meeting with her. I don't know why you want to meet her, but I'll arrange it... Only after the mission is over, okay? - I added the necessary condition of our agreement so that there would be no problems on the way.
- All right! Deal! - She shouted, literally glowing with happiness. She even jumped up a couple of times like a little child. I had to cover my face with my hand from such a sight. I've seen a lot of things, but Morgana behaving like that, childishly. I've never had the honour of witnessing.
- But still... Tell me, why do you want to meet her? I just don't understand..." I mumbled, trying to calm down.
- Well..." she thought for a second, even as she stopped jumping or moving in any way. She just stood with her index finger to her chin, pretending to think. - It's just that she's kind of your girlfriend and I'm kind of a part of you, so she needs to know her prince fully and completely so that you don't fight later on. - she said very seriously, looking me in the eye. I felt a twinge of shock at that look. Where did she get that look?! It's at times like this that I realise I'm not really human. My pupils dilated in surprise.
- What? That was probably all I could manage to say in that state. I must have looked very comical at that moment, because Morgana laughed out loud. The laughter continued for a minute, until she calmed down.
- You're so funny, it's a shame you have to go. You're already there. - The demoness stated, simply throwing me out of my... Key word. My subconscious.
I opened my eyes in the real world. I was lying on a cart with goods, which was travelling at the very beginning of the caravan.
- You're awake? - Mito, who was sitting next to me, said with some surprise. Another girl, who was walking in front of the caravan, turned round at her voice.
- You're awake! - She literally growled at me, pouncing on me. I didn't even have time to react before she jumped on me, pressing her whole body against me. - Do you know how worried I was? - Yumiko asked the only question she could ask, holding me tighter.
- I know, but it's over. - I tried to reassure her, but my words didn't even fully escape my lips as my gut screamed for danger. My body reacted on its own. My mind didn't even have time to fully comprehend what was happening. It was just survival instinct. I jumped out of the cart with Yumiko. I didn't have enough hands on Mito, though Uzumaki reacted quickly enough when she saw my actions. We didn't even have time to land before the cart was destroyed by the water dragon's strike. The technique disappeared immediately after the impact, but my intuition alerted me once again to the impending crisis. I flung Yumi away from me, already assuming that the attack would come from the back. My assumptions turned out to be correct, so I managed to take countermeasures by creating a sharp ice pin in my hand. I took a horizontal strike from my opponent's tanto to block my weapon, but damn it, I miscalculated. My ice weapon was destroyed, after which I only managed to move slightly away from the opponent's attack zone. I was slashed well across my chest, leaving a deep wound. After the successful attack, the enemy broke the distance, beginning to assess the damage I had received. At this moment, I was able to get a glimpse of my enemy. It was a light-skinned man with white, shaggy hair and red eyes. He had three red lines on his face, one under each eye and another on his chin.
Some strange battle colouring, if you ask me. His distinguishing feature was his clothing, which was a blue armour with a white fur collar and a black suit underneath. This armour was made of numerous metal plates formed into several guards along his body. His forehead was covered by a strange iron with the symbol of the clan... Senju Clan... What the hell is going on here! While I was looking at him, he was carrying out the same procedure on me. With his penetrating gaze, he glided over all of my clothes. It was as if he was looking for something, though I guessed what... He was looking for at least some identifying mark to see which clan I belonged to. Apparently not finding what he was looking for, he fixed his gaze on my chest. Oh yeah, he clearly hadn't expected that. As we studied each other, my hand that was on the wound exuded a very strange glow. In fact, it was a highly concentrated cold. The wound was quite serious. I hadn't fully recovered from Madara's beating, so I decided to just freeze the wound so it wouldn't bleed. Yes, it wouldn't heal it, however I would be able to be combat capable for a while.
- Who are you? - He asked with a serious face, turning to me. He was clearly confused by my abilities.
- You attacked us, so introduce yourselves first. - I said coldly, not intending to retreat. No, I understand, but my opponent is clearly an experienced ninja. He has too much chakra, and since I didn't feel his presence before, it can speak of his level of training and experience.
- You invade our clan's territory and you demand something from us? - The man stated as he began to frown. In his eyes I even saw a light of anger and rage.
- I am Mito Uzumaki, daughter of the head of the Uzumaki clan, Ashina Uzumaki. And these," Mito pointed at me and Yumiko. - my chaperones, Yumiko and Michiko Yuki. - Mito spoke, taking a step forward. Apparently, she realised that I wouldn't find common ground with this albino.
- Hm..." the white-haired ninja stretched out, assessing the situation. - We received a letter from Uzushio about something like this, but I didn't think you would be accompanied by mercenaries. My name is Tobirama Senju. Follow me. - The shinobi spoke in a calmer tone as he tucked his weapon into its scabbard behind his back. He also gestured towards the nearest trees, from which several ninja from his clan jumped down at once. They quickly took us into a protective ring, intending to escort us this way.
- They're not mercenaries. This guy is an apprentice of the Uzukage, and she," Uzumaki pointed to Yumi. - 'the most promising medic I've ever seen. - She stated, looking directly into the eyes of her interlocutor. Yumiko wasn't listening to her at this point, having already started treating my wound.
- I see... - the albino stretched out meaningfully, casting an interested glance at me. - That explains a lot. - he added to himself.
After that, we left for the Senju clan. We travelled in complete silence. Riko's daughter continued to treat me, occasionally giving me apologetic glances. I understood her, because now she thought I'd screwed up twice because of her, but that wasn't really the case. I didn't realise that my opponent had such a good command of the lightning element, the chakra of which he had used at the last moment on the blade of his tanto. It was amazingly precise and jewelled. He had clearly done this kind of trick more than once before, taking his opponents by surprise. That's why every time Yumi gave me a glance like that, I stroked her head, letting her know that I wasn't angry with her and that everything was fine.....
