Bennett, are you okay?

This day seemed to be like all the others, the same classes, the kind teacher Albedo, the nice librarian Lisa, the strict principal Jean and the same classmates, the best singer Barbara, the best girlfriend Fischl, the good comrade Itair, the principal Amber, the cute shy Sucrose, but Razor was gone and that made Bennett sad.
Bennett was an average student, somewhere better, somewhere worse, a regular guy with nothing more to write about.
—Damn it, I'm late! —Bennet ran down the hall like a madman, just to get there before the teacher arrived, five minutes left, but it was better to be early than late, and anything could happen because of failure.
I did, I was out of breath when I ran to the office, but the principal was supposed to teach the class, for some reason she was late, it wasn't like her.
Meanwhile, Amber was painting Itair's nails with glitter nail polish.
—Hi, beautiful Aether!
—Bennet greeted the class's top beauty.
—Hello. Amber's nails, Amber's manicurist is the best.
— It was nice to have his nails painted, it made him feel more feminine. It was kind of fun.
— I hope Jean doesn't notice, or he'll cluck, traditional values and so on. -Amber walked off to her school seat.
Ms. Gunnhildr arrived late.
—Hello, students! I wanted to talk to you today about an important topic.
The thing is that in the neighborhoods near the school, there are suspicious people who distribute illegal substances and among them there are people of your age, NEVER TAKE THIS JOB , YES THE PAY IS GOOD, BUT WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF HOW LONG YOU'LL BE IN JAIL FOR 10 YEARS.
—Jean is very concerned about this problem. Five people from her school are in jail.
—Can I ask you a question? How do students get hooked on this kind of work? How do they know about it? -Sucrose,l wanted to get to the bottom of this issue.
—The spread of this work comes from people on the street and from pupils 2-3 years older than you and they are mostly bullies and people who make money from the death of others even minors.
We try to prosecute these people immediately. The rest of the time they discussed the topic, Bennett felt uncomfortable, because the job was meant to do something useful for society, not to encourage drug addiction and death.
It was the last lesson and they went home, but Bennett decided to run to the bathroom to avoid shitting himself on the way home.
And there were these high school teenagers......
—Hey, kid, you want to get a job? It pays a lot, you won't regret it.
—No.... Thanks. Bennett's really nervous and they want me to deliver drugs.
—Hey! If you don't do it, you're gonna die right here. -The guys started beating up poor Bennett.
—Help! Somebody help! They hit him even harder, his nose was broken. And then Aether appeared, he drew attention to himself, but Bennet noticed him by his darkened eyes, his headache. He tried to help Aether, but one of the bullies knocked the unlucky one out.
Bennett woke up in the hospital, with the principal and the teacher sitting next to him. How did I get here? What about Aether? Is he okay?
— You were found in the school bathroom beaten up, Aether couldn't be saved.
What? —Why didn't I die? What about him? He gave his life to keep me alive, he didn't deserve to die.
— Bennett squealed, tears running from his eyes, and instead of a loud scream, there were faint cries. The boy just couldn't make it out any higher than that, he had recently woken up.

Albedo and Jean tried to comfort the apprentice in any way they could, seeing a recently sleeping man crying was heartbreaking.
