Chapter I.

The Foxes played the match in Baltimore in their favor with a gap of one point. The team was pleased with this result, so they were very happy to discuss today's game. The cheerful chatter with a grunt was interrupted by a very loud ringtone of Kevin's phone, which surprised the guy himself. He usually turned off the sound, but then he forgot, which is very strange. However, it wasn't that important compared to the caller's number. Day's eyebrows went up when he realized that the FBI was calling him. "Hello?" the striker immediately picked up the phone. "Kevin Day? Agent Brown is bothering you. Nathaniel Wesninsky wants to talk to you." a rude voice answered on the other side of the call line.       At the mention of his best friend, who disappeared from the radar three years ago, my heart sank into my heels. My eyes blurred, a huge lump stood in the middle of my throat, and my eyes began to water treacherously. Taking a deep breath and exhaling, the brunette blinked away tears, cleared his throat and confidently asked: "Can you give him the phone?"       All the people present turned around and watched with interest, even Andrew raised an eyebrow in interest, but Kevin did not pay attention to them. "Hi, Kevin." the hoarse voice of a teenager immediately rang out, which made Day want to tear and throw. "Niel.. How are you? Where are you?" Kevin asked gently, which surprised everyone present. "I'm at FBI headquarters in Baltimore." Nathaniel answered the second question, deliberately ignoring the first.       Counting mentally to ten in French, Kevin ran his fingers through his wet hair after a shower, trying to calm his pounding heart. He was bursting with excitement and fear for his old childhood friend, who was really dear to him. "Kevin... Come, please... " Day barely made out what Wesninsky had just said, but when the meaning came to him, he jumped up from the bench, dropping his gym bag and an open bottle of water that belonged to Nicky standing next to him.       His breathing was short, and his eyes were running in panic, as if he was trying to find something. "I—I'll be there... Wait for me, okay? Niel, I'll be there soon." he stuttered, to which he received a quiet agreement, and then loud beeps.       Exhaling noisily, he began to frantically collect his bag, swearing under his breath. The male part of the team watched with bewilderment the throwing of the former raven and could not understand what Niel was talking about, since Day was so worried about him. "Is there anything you want to tell me, Kevin?" drew Andrew, who was sitting on a bench with his hands behind his head and leaning on a locker. "Not now, Andrew, I urgently need to talk to the coach."       Before anyone could say a word, Kevin disappeared through the locker room door. He needs to get to Waymak quickly and talk to him.

Kevin was sitting at the window on the bus with the whole team and nervously tapping his foot, clutching the phone in his hand, as if he expected a second call, which in principle was the case, but it never came. However, another call came, which he clearly also subconsciously expected. "You already know?" Ichiro immediately got down to business, as soon as Day answered, speaking in his native language.       Kevin sighed, switching to Japanese. "Yes. I've already received a call. I'm afraid to imagine what happened to Niel." Day replied in a voice trembling with excitement, leaning back in his seat. "I contacted Stuart. Nathan is dead and so are his assistants, and Nat is in a deplorable state." Kevin seemed to see Ichiro, who was sitting at his desk in his office in tension and clenching his fists until his knuckles turned white.       Day understood him. He was also worried to distraction. And the news that Nathaniel is now literally a living corpse made his heart stop, and his ribs painfully squeeze his lungs, making it impossible to breathe normally. My ears were ringing, and my eyes were unfocused. "Kevin, can you hear me? I'll be in Palmetto tomorrow because I know it's pointless to go to Baltimore if you're going after him now." this forced the attacker to wake up. "Where are you from..." Day was interrupted immediately, unable to finish his thought. "If you haven't forgotten, I am a future mafia boss and I have the ability to track the geolocation of anyone. Almost anyone." Moriyama's voice cracked on the last sentence, although it was difficult to understand it, but Kevin has known the young gentleman too long and well to distinguish any changes in his speech. "Good. I'll call you when I talk to him and take him to my place." "Keep me informed." that's all Moriyama answered, dropping the call.       Kevin shoved his phone into the pocket of his university bomber jacket and turned back to the window, ignoring the stares that were directed at him. This trip promises to be a long one. "We've arrived." Waymak announced, pulling into the headquarters parking lot. "Well, or not very long." Kevin mentally noted.       Without even taking a bag with him, Kevin was the very first to jump out of the bus and run as fast as he could to the main entrance to the building. "Why are we here?" Aaron grumbled as he was one of the last to get off the bus. "Kevin needed it urgently. He did not say the reason, but simply demanded to be taken to the FBI headquarters." "Why would he go to the FBI? Is it about that guy he was talking to in the locker room?" Nicky asked rhetorically, walking with everyone to the main entrance. "And you, it turns out, can think." Aaron approved rather than asked, to which he received a ton of indignation, which everyone ignored.       When they all entered, they saw how the brunette was communicating with some man, while actively gesticulating with his hands. "Mr. Wesninsky is in the interrogation room right now. He's giving evidence about what happened, so you can wait in the waiting room. He should just be released." just caught the appropriate Foxes, whose eyebrows crept up. "Good. Thank you, Agent Brown."       Before the Foxes could even open their mouths, Day disappeared from their field of vision again, entering some room. Andrew was the first to follow, and then the others. When they entered the room, they saw the former raven nervously pacing back and forth, and Andrew was watching him disinterestedly.       Seth was about to start being indignant about this, because what the fuck are they doing here and what is going on at all, when the second door opened and two people entered the hall. A tall man in his forties and a short teenager who was clearly taller than the twins, and looked as if he had survived the war. As soon as Day and this youngster crossed glances, the elder literally flew up to him and the guys hugged, which surprised everyone. Kevin hunched over, lowering his head onto Junior's shoulder, and gently pressed him to himself, shuddering slightly from the rush of relief and anger at Nathan. "I missed you very much too, Kev." Nathaniel said gently, but still hoarsely, and clung to the brunette as if he were his lifeline.       His face was covered with abrasions and bruises, as well as bandaged and plastered in some places. Exposed areas of skin that could not hide the sweatshirt and sportswear were also covered with a huge number of bandages that were soaked in blood in places. It was a pitiful sight, which made the hearts of Day and some Foxes shrink. It was painful to look at such a Nathaniel, which made the brunette's green eyes water, causing the hoodie to get wet in the shoulder area. To this, Nat just smiled and began stroking his friend on the back. "What's going on here?" finally decided to ask Abby that was standing next to Waymak and watching it all.       Breaking away from the blue-eyed man and wiping his eyes with his sleeve, Kevin stood next to Wesninsky, putting his arm around his shoulders, thereby supporting him so as not to fall. "I think it's worth introducing you to each other. This is Nathaniel Wesninsky, my best friend since childhood. Niel, these are the Foxes, my new team."       Nat just smiled, finally relaxing his shoulders, realizing that this group of people does not pose a danger to him and Kevin. "I'm glad you left the Ravens." "Do you know about what's going on in the Crows?" Nicky asked, taking a step forward, which made Niel unconsciously tense up. "Distance, Nicky." the brunette growled, pressing the teenager closer to him, to which he winced in pain. "Sorry, I didn't mean to. Did you press hard?"       Everyone was dumbfounded by Day's behavior in the company of this ginger, who looked like a walking punching bag. However, the darkness that was in those ice-blue eyes strained Renee and Andrew, who were ready to attack a potential threat at any moment, but something prevented them, forcing them to doubt and just watch what would happen next.       It will be a very busy day.
