1. Laptop.
November 12, 2023 at 5:15 AM
I'm Lara. I'm 15. Since childhood I have lived in St. Petersburg. I have friends and family. I don't need anything else. The quiet life slowly dragged on. Day after day I went to school, go out with friends, and so on. Everything is the same as everyone else, but one day everything changed.
Another school day. Geography lesson… I hate it. This is the most boring subject. My friends and I were playing a computer game as always.
Maria Stepanovna got up from the table and continued to tell the topic. Art quickly hid the phone under the notebook. Maria Stepanovna reached the end of the class and turned back. She walked past Kira and Vic. The twins, who were sitting on the last desk, skillfully pretended that they were taking notes. Then she looked at Phil and me, who were sitting in front of Kira and Vic. I jabbed my elbow at Phil, who didn't even hide that he was playing in her lesson. He quickly slipped the phone under the notebook and started scribbling something in it. I closed the phone with a pencil case and also buried myself in the summary. Art, sitting in the second row, to our left, was also writing something down. Maria Stepanovna went up to the blackboard. Art pushed the notebook away from the phone and clicked on the screen.
- Meshcheryakov, what do you have under your notebook? — the teacher asked with displeasure.
Art deftly pressed the phone to the notebook and picked it up.
- Nothing.- he said.
- It's not true, Marya Stepanovna! Art is playing.- Ilya got up from behind Art.- And Kira, Vic, Lara and Phil are also playing with him. - said the classmate.- Here. I took everything on video this time.
- Artem, Kira, Victor, Philip, Illaria, stand up.
We obediently got up from our chairs.
- Phones to my desk along with the diary.
Maria Stepanovna picked up Phil's notebook and took the phone out from under it. Phil looked at her with a frustrated look.
-Mary Stepanovna, we have a reit, a lot of loot, a rarny vent, it's very necessary, pliiis. Phil folded his hands and looked at the teacher with pleading eyes.
- Chernykh, speak normally. The English lesson is next. Maria Stepanovna said, taking my phone. I reluctantly handed over my gadget.
- We need a phone for half a minute, eh? — Art asked in a pleading voice.
- Meshcheryakov, you don't suffer from modesty. I've already figured that out. You'll get your phones after school.
Kira turned to Ilya and ran her thumb over her throat, showing Ilya that he could not be spiced.
- Yes, Ilya, yes, you too.
- A...a... and what am I for? The red—haired guy asked in a genuinely uncomprehending voice.
- And all for the same. Used the phone in class.- Maria Stepanovna lowered her glasses to the tip of her nose.
The bell rang. Maria Stepanovna left the classroom. She had in her hands our 5 cherished phones and another red-haired traitor. The teacher walked along the corridor, inserted the key into the lock and opened the door of the staff room. As soon as the door closed, we were already there. Looking around the corner, we began to come up with a plan.
-He runs around, we find phones, turn on the game, collect prizes until the promotion is over.- our out-of-voice leader repeated.- Phil, how long until the end of the event?
- Three minutes.- Phil said, looking at his digital watch.
- And if we don't make it?- I asked.
- We have to make it.- Art said.
The door to the staff room opened. Maria Stepanovna came out of it. As soon as she turned the corner Art said:
- Go ahead.
We rushed towards the closing door to the staff room. Art ran first. He slipped and almost fell, but he stayed on his feet. When he realized that he would not have time to run, he took the backpack off his shoulder and threw it to the door. It rested against the backpack and could not close. We ran into the staff room.
- Go, go, go!- Art shouted, supporting the whole team. We quickly found the entire staff room, but there were no phones anywhere. Kira saw an unknown laptop.
-They're nowhere to be found.- Vic exclaimed, desperate to make it to the end of the event.
- It can't be.
- Shall we ask for a phone from Ksyusha?- Vic asked.
- Two minutes.- Phil began to fill the panic.
- We won't have time.- Art said hopelessly, but still did not despair.
- A good idea always comes late.- I said, turning to Vic.
- Yeah.- he said.
-We can log in to the game through the browser with my password.- suddenly Kira put the laptop in front of Art.
- From someone else's laptop?- Vic asked.
- And who will know? — Art was already anticipating the taste of win. He opened the laptop.
A blue beam swept across the room, scanning it.
-It strange.- I said.
- What was that?- Kira asked.
- Oh, it doesn't matter.- Art said and pressed the space bar. Nothing happened.
- Ok! Does not work. Let's go, otherwise we will be punished.- Vic said in a frightened voice.
- Now we definitely won't have time.- I said.
Suddenly, the laptop rose into the air.
- We will definitely be punished.- Vic said, even more scared than before.
The laptop buzzed and lit up the room in blue.
