Chapter 10

Heavy footsteps with a thud echoed through the vast Atrium area as the massive figure left the territory of the "Race with Roxy". The animatronic bear stopped in front of the huge stage where he and the rest of his band had performed the day before. Thoughts of the past began to creep into Freddy's head. He, like all animatronics, was created for the sole purpose of entertaining visitors to the shopping center. Freddy willingly fulfilled his function of entertaining children, and this made him happy. That made him Freddy. This has been the case for a long time. Until one day everything changed. The animatronic turned his head, trying to drive away painful memories. With some caution, Freddy put his paw in a protective gesture on his busy stomach, where the boy was sleeping at the moment. The bear silently began stroking his animal compartment, trying to calm both himself and the little child inside. After taking one last look at the scene, where silhouettes from the past began to appear to him like visions, Freddie turned around on the spot and walked slowly towards the escalator. Distant thoughts did not leave the animatronic's head, and he again remembered how before he walked up these steps in the evening, before closing, but already in the company of his friends. Or rather, in the company of an old friend. Thoughts of Bonnie filled the thoughts of the lead singer of the band again. His best friend. Quite recently, he was still here. He performed on stage with him and their friends. When Freddy was still just Freddy. Bonnie cheerfully accompanied the band, filling the rhythm, playing the drums. And in the evening, Bonnie liked to demonstrate his bowling skills. Rabbit has repeatedly taught Freddy how to throw the ball correctly so that there is a perfect throw that allows you to knock down as many pins as possible. Freddy was smiling as he walked smoothly up the stairs, trying not to disturb his teddy bear's sleep with his movements. The poor kid suffered so much in one night. What horrors he managed to survive. But now Papa Bear will take care of him. Freddy will definitely not allow "everything to happen again." The bear's eyes flashed with a warning fire, and its insides grated. Stagnant emotions had been boiling in him for a long time, which the lonely animatronic couldn't wait to throw out on someone. There were a lot of security robots with flashlights prowling around. Their constant movement was already annoying the bear. Coming closer, Freddy caught one by the neck with a deft movement, and with one jerk tore him into three parts, tearing off the robot's head, and separating the legs from the trunk, and then threw the remains to the ground. Emotions subsided slightly, and Freddy already felt better, but not well enough yet. Noticing three more guards, Freddy headed towards them. On the way, he thought again about the events of not so long ago. He clearly remembered how it all started. The working staff began to rush at his friend Bonnie, accusing him of illegally wandering around the locations after hours. Attempts to find out from a friend what was the matter did not give anything. Later, Freddy began to notice that his friend's body began to appear a lot of chips and cracks, and he began to move noticeably worse. Freddy tried to find out from a friend about his breakdowns, and even offered to take him to a technical inspection, but Bonnie waved him off again, saying that he just overworked at the bowling alley. The bear believed his friend, and therefore tried not to pay attention to his injuries. For which he now bitterly regrets. Having torn off the head of another security robot, Freddy began to openly reproach himself in his thoughts. "IF I HAD ONLY NOTICED EARLIER... IF I HAD PAID ATTENTION TO THE SIGNS RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME... IF I HAD BEEN MORE PERSISTENT, I COULD HAVE SAVED HIM... WHY WAS I SO BLIND? WHY?" Breaking another robot into pieces, Freddy felt an extraordinary dampness in the area of his eyes. Wiping his muzzle with his paw, Freddy was surprised to find traces of a black oily liquid on it. For the first time, surprising even himself, the main animatronic of the entire shopping center began to cry. Freddy was openly crying. Raising his gaze to the wall where "Bowling Bonnie" was written in large letters, Freddy shed a new batch of tears. Coming closer, the animatronic slowly ran his paw over the wall image of his old friend. He hasn't been to this place for a long time, ever since his friend was written off. But now, for the first time in so long, Freddy knew he had to visit this place. Running his paw over his heavy stomach again, Freddy headed inside. It's funny that in many parts of the mall it was dark, but in the bowling alley it was light. Everything here was the same, except for one detail – the absence of his best friend. Having gone deep into the location, bypassing bowling lanes and bar counters, the bear finally stopped in front of red curtains symbolizing the absence of the owner of this location. Too immersed in his thoughts about the past, Freddy did not pay attention to the moment when the little passenger in his chest began to wake up slowly. Gregory gradually began to recover. The last thing he remembered was how he passed out in the arms of an insane copy of the teacher who managed to shut him up. However, right now, the first thing the boy noticed was that his mouth was free. And the second was the feeling of being cramped. Slowly opening his eyes, Gregory tried to figure out where he was now. It was white and dark, so cramped that even the legs could not be stretched out, some thick wires hung over the head, and the only light source was a small gap between two tightly compressed plates. After a little reflection, Gregory was trying to figure out where he found himself, when suddenly his surroundings began to move. The boy felt from the shaking and thudding outside that he was inside a moving animatronic. In an instant, the boy understood everything and fear washed over him. If he is inside a moving animatronic, then he can only be in one animatronic – Freddy. Gregory froze in horror, afraid to even breathe. Had Freddy found him? Had the bear finally caught up with him after a long night of running? And what happened to the teacher? Did Freddy destroy him too? And what did the bear cook for the boy himself? Is the animatronic going to tear him apart too? The boy, in order not to inadvertently make an unnecessary sound, tightly clamped his hand over his mouth. Gregory understood that he was trapped, and he could not escape from the belly of a huge animatronic. The boy felt the irony in this situation: Freddy was exactly the animatronic who helped him at the very beginning, who gave him advice, and who was kind to him - and now he is exactly the animatronic whom Gregory is most afraid of. The space around the boy began to shake again, and Gregory heard the bear's voice, not addressing him exactly, but speaking as if in space. "BONNIE... MY OLD FRIEND... I'M SORRY I COULDN'T HELP YOU!.. IF I HAD NOTICED EARLIER WHAT WAS HAPPENING TO YOUR BODY, AND IN THE WHOLE SHOPPING CENTER, I COULD HAVE HELPED YOU..." Freddy spoke with sadness, looking with his eyes at the red drawn curtain, while not ceasing to stroke his stomach. "YOU HAD INJURIES, AND EVERY DAY THEY BECAME MORE AND MORE... YOU WERE MAIMED BY EMPLOYEES... THE PEOPLE WERE EXTREMELY HARSH TO YOU... THE MEMBERS OF THE GROUP TREATED YOU WITH ENVY… AND I DIDN'T NOTICE IT!" Gregory listened to the bear's conversation in silence, afraid to draw attention to his figure. Through the crack, he saw Freddy periodically stroking his stomach, and the boy felt that this action was addressed specifically to him. "WHEN YOU WERE GONE, I MADE A PROMISE TO MYSELF THAT I WOULD NOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN AGAIN... THEN I CHANGED… I BEGAN TO LOOK AT MY FRIENDS AND PEOPLE DIFFERENTLY… I DECIDED THAT IF I SAW SOMEONE IN NEED OF HELP AGAIN, I WOULD NOT DELAY ANY LONGER… I'LL HELP HIM RIGHT AWAY… I'M NOT JUST FREDDIE ANYMORE… I'M NOT ME... NOW I'M SOMETHING MORE..." Freddy finally came back from the red curtain and put both his paws on his light belly decorated with a blue zipper. "AND I HAVE FOUND SOMEONE TO WHOM I AM READY TO GIVE ALL MY FEELINGS... MY LITTLE BEAR… MY SUPERSTAR!" Freddy wrapped his paws around his body, trying to hug the baby inside his stomach. For a couple of seconds, Gregory was so squeezed that it hurt him, but he did not dare to utter a sound. The boy was scared. Gregory tried to think of salvation. As soon as it occurred to the boy to try to open the hatch in his stomach on his own, a painfully familiar laugh rang out throughout the bowling alley. "HA HA HA HA... ARE YOU HAVING FUN ALREADY?" Gregory's eyes widened. He recognized that laugh. Freddy, on the other hand, began to turn his head in surprise. The animatronic, just in case, covered his stomach with his paw. The bear was ready to protect his cub at all costs. His red eyes shone like two coals: he was trying to see who was making that disgusting laugh. "GLAMROCK FREDDY... WHAT AN UNEXPECTED MEETING… IT LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE WHAT I NEED... AND I PLAN TO TAKE IT FROM YOU..." Freddy only growled loudly at this statement. Let him not see the opponent, but he didn't care: he wasn't going to give HIS baby to ANYONE. And at that very moment, the lights started flashing in the bowling alley. Kitchen equipment began to turn on and off by itself. Right in front of the surprised bear, one of the refrigerators fell on its side, scattering cans of soda on the floor, about which some opened by themselves. Freddy stared in amazement at the spreading puddle of soda. As soon as he thought to get closer, the bowling lanes closest to him began to rearrange the pins by themselves. The animatronic looked in shock at the chaos taking place. The boy, locked inside, was as surprised as the bear, but was afraid to say a word, fearing the animatronic's anger. Finally, in front of Freddie, in the far part of the bowling alley, the hero of the occasion appeared. The rabbit danced with enthusiasm in front of the animatronic, and openly invited him to come to her. "COME TO ME, FREDDY... LET'S PLAY WITH YOU… I KNOW THAT YOU REALLY MISS YOUR FRIEND, RABBIT… HOW ABOUT THE DEAL... YOU GIVE ME THE BOY, AND I'LL TELL YOU SOMETHING INTERESTING ABOUT BONNIE..." Freddy stood in disbelief: the strange rabbit knew something about his friend, and in return she demands his child. The bear only openly growled at this, baring his sharp teeth and showing his long claws to the rabbit. The animatronic headed towards the hated rabbit until he touched the spilled soda with his paws. "I WON'T LET ANYONE TOUCH MY TEDDY BEAR… I DON'T KNOW WHO YOU ARE, BUT MY FRIEND IS DEAD... WHATEVER YOU SAY, IT WON'T MATTER… NOW STAND STILL SO THAT I CAN TEAR YOU APART, FOR NO ONE BUT ME DARES TO TOUCH THE BOY!" As soon as Freddy said this, the rabbit laughed even louder, and then a remote control with a button flashed in her hand. "ARE YOU SO CONFIDENT IN YOURSELF?!...HA HA HA... WELL, LET'S SEE…ONE... TWO... THREE!" Gregory realized that the rabbit was up to something, and that Freddy was definitely not in league with her. The boy, the animatronics began to beat desperately in his stomach. The child wanted to warn him. "Freddy! Go away quickly! Run, she's..." But the boy did not have time to finish. As soon as Freddy turned his attention from the rabbit to the panicking child inside him, his whole body burst into terrible pain. Animatronics was hit by a powerful discharge current. The soda in which Freddy was standing passed through a large charge of electricity, which was sent to him by a crazy rabbit. Animatronics beat with terrible force: all his schemes were jumping, all his senses were lost, Freddie himself lost his sense of space. After a couple of minutes, the animatronic collapsed to the floor, temporarily out of order. It was quiet inside him. The child didn't make a single sound. The rabbit, on the other hand, galloped with enthusiasm to the immobilized animatronic and forcibly opened his stomach. The unconscious body of the boy appeared to the maniac's gaze. Gregory did not move at all, and showed no signs of life. The rabbit happily began to dance: she did what she wanted, she finally killed this child. With a cheerful laugh, the rabbit began to spin around the hall, dancing with enthusiasm on her bloody legs. Meanwhile, Freddy began to slowly come to his senses. All of his circuits temporarily went astray and required repair. Internal systems began to fail, and artificial intelligence itself began to give some unusual thoughts and ideas. However, having discarded everything superfluous, Freddy first of all began to check whether his baby was okay. With horror, the animatronic discovered that his child had stopped moving. Carefully removing the baby from his chest, Freddie tried to scan it. To the bear's horror, his systems said there were no signs of life. The animatronic couldn't believe: was his bear cub dead? Is Gregory dead? New tears began to accumulate in the animatronic's eyes. Freddy, crying, pulled the lifeless body of his baby to him, resting his muzzle on the boy's head. How could he let this happen? No, it's not his fault. It's the rabbit's fault! She has to PAY for it! She must DIE for it! Putting the body of his baby on the floor, Freddy slowly got up from the floor. Animatronic almost jewelry movement took a new bowling ball from the nearest stand, and then took the right pose. The words of his friend sounded in the bear's head, telling him how to hold the ball correctly in order to throw it exactly at the target. The animatronic opened his eyes: black with shining red lights. Freddy was furious. Taking a good swing and aiming, Freddy took out all his anger in one throw. The ball whizzed through the entire game room, hitting the crazy rabbit's shoulder exactly, breaking with a terrible crunch the bones of her arm, shoulder, collarbone, and in addition several ribs. The maniac screamed in pain and collapsed to the floor, unable to get up. An angry bear was heading towards her with a terrible stomp. Freddy hovered over the rabbit and spoke in a voice as if from hell itself. "LET'S PLAY!" And then the animatronic grabbed the rabbit by her broken arm, and dragged her somewhere outside the bowling alley, deliberately causing his victim as much pain as possible along the way.
