Chapter 2

— And what should I do now? My best friend asked me. She and I have been friendly since the first year. Today she wanted to leave our city for Chelyabinsk, and I invited her to a cafe to see her off. Well, there shouldn't have been any secrets between us. So I told her the secret about the old man I met a few days ago, about the map of an unknown planet. Of course, she was a little scared, thinking that I was crazy from studying. But... Leaving the cafe, heading to the dorm, I closed the doors and curtains. I typed a combination on the ball-card. And immediately this planet with five rings around the axis appeared. And then she believed me. "I don't know," I replied, clutching the map in my hands. — To be honest, for some reason it seemed to me or it's all connected with one cartoon with planets. — Can you tell me the name? Lera asked insistently, as if trying to instill in me the power of memory. With a dejected expression on my face, I turned back to the picture in my head, which seemed to be a kaleidoscope of emotions and images. "I don't remember," I whispered, feeling my mind trying to get what was hidden deep in my memory. — But I remember that there were ships on sails in space and... whales! Orcus... Orcus... My thoughts were interrupted by Leroy, who eagerly tried to guess the riddle that had arisen in front of us. — Thermopolis, right? "What is it?" she asked, hoping to start a thread. My reaction to her words was stronger and louder than Lera herself expected. — What kind of thermopolis?! Galacticuses of some kind! I snapped, desperation and frustration mixed in my voice. I was offended that my attempts to remember and explain my feelings remained fruitless. But these strange images from the past did not leave me. Maybe the answer is hidden in the galaxies themselves, or maybe it's just a hoax of consciousness. But I absolutely could not stop the cycle of my thoughts and feelings until I found the answer. —Okay, Light," Lera said, putting on her jacket. — I'll go already. My parents have already packed their things and are waiting for me. — Maybe to accompany you? I asked, putting on my hat and coat. —Thank you," she smiled. I accompanied her, so to speak, to the train, we said goodbye and went our separate ways. It was hard for me to leave my friend. But alas, time is fleeting. On my way back to the dormitory, I saw something come down from the sky. It was like a submarine, only for some reason it was flying. Strange creatures jumped off the ship, not resembling humans, but rather alien races. I was terrified, at first I thought it was just a bad dream. Trying to pinch myself, I was grabbed and tied up by creatures that looked like a fat bull with the help of a crocodile and a spider with crab claws. Then another creature approached us. It was huge, with an elastic belly, brown skin with a lot of folds. In general, he reminded me of a huge bear. He had mechanical things on the right side of his body. An arm, a leg, an eye, and an ear. This tall and mysterious "man" of inimitable charm approached me with the confidence of a tiger. His hands, full of life and strength, lightly wrapped around my chin, and his lips gently touched the skin on my forehead. "Okay, let that girl go!" He commanded as he finally pulled away from me, leaving for a moment a look of tenderness. Suddenly, I felt like I was being let go, but I lost my balance and fell awkwardly. Oh grace, how I praised my Lord, at that moment this stranger, whom I will affectionately call "this man," quickly picked me up and embraced me, as if he were holding a child in his arms. A small embarrassed smile rushes to my lips, because no man has dared to take me in his arms before. My heart involuntarily frightened as he pressed me to his chest, but his gorgeous smile, stretching from ear to ear, instantly calmed me down. The unusual and unfamiliar surroundings made me feel a little insecure when I suddenly met this man. He politely returned my bag and addressed me with a question: "What's your name, baby?" His voice sounded friendly, genuinely interested. I answered: — Svetlana. — However, this answer was not entirely satisfactory for him. The man asked another question, trying to talk to me in a calm and friendly tone: — Do you have a shorter name? I fell silent, embarrassed. A separate word that might have been suitable in this situation was not on my lips. Being a few steps ahead of me, this stranger suggested: — Do you mind if I call you Light from time to time?. Faced with a surprise, I responded: — Well, I think it's possible — and nodded, adjusting the hat on her head. These few words seemed like a good solution to me. The name Light turned out to be fresh and more intimate. It gave this casual acquaintance a certain lightness and simplicity. Just as I was about to leave, this man grabbed me and dragged me in his direction. I tried to resist, but I couldn't. Then a card fell out of my pocket and made a ringing sound. I tried to catch her, but one of the people did itOr rather, one of the aliens, exclaimed in English: "Hey, Silver, that kid met our old Pugh!" "No! I shouted, trying to get out of the bandit's grip. "Let me go!" Take that damn card, but let me go! — No, my girl, you will come with us! The fat man spoke again in English. I growled at him. "What are you yapping about?!" I shouted, slapping the alien in the stomach. "Do you think I understand what you're saying?!" However, no one listened to me. So to speak, Silver continued to carry me on his shoulder, and I was so seasick on his shoulder that I fell asleep.
