Chapter 1
November 9, 2023 at 2:02 PM
Night on a city street is a time when everything around you becomes quiet and it feels like a soft haze, like a magical shroud. The stars begin to appear in the darkening sky, like bright diamonds that fulfill the wishes of those who dare to make a wish. The streets of the city, usually lively and noisy during the day, become almost deserted, as if sleeping after a busy, productive day. Only rare passers-by can be heard amidst the noise of the cars, which still continue their relentless pace.
Atsushi Nakajima is a teenager with silver hair that looks like slightly melted snow, pale skin, and yellow eyes with a violet tint. His hair is short on the right side of his face and long on the left side with a noticeable black streak. He's of average height and of slim build. He had already gone to bed when suddenly, a call from an unknown number comes to his phone.
"Strange, who could it be at this late hour? Maybe something happened at the agency? But then the number would have been recognized. Well, we'll have to find out who it is."
- Yeah?
- Well, hello, Tiger.
The familiar languid and quiet voice of Akutagawa Ryunosuke sounded on the other side of the phone.
- Akutagawa?! How did you find my number?
Atsushi abruptly assumed a sitting position, his face expressing only pure surprise and incomprehension as to how the black-haired man got his phone number.
- Say thank you to Dazai-san.
- Okay. Why are you calling?
- I just wanted to hear your voice.
Nakajima was even more surprised and slightly embarrassed by the intentions of Rashomon's owner.
- Okay... What's with the gunshots? Are you playing a shooting game?
There was a visceral feeling of worry and hope in his chest that Akutagawa was okay and his hypothesis was correct.
- Yes, yes, shooting games.
- Then have a good game.
Atsushi dropped the call, leaning back on his pillow and half-asleep, thinking about the situation.
"He's kind of weird. I'm shocked at him...I'll never understand."

- Good night, Tiger.
On the other side of the wire, Ryunosuke did have a shooting game, but it wasn't for kids, and it wasn't a game of life and death.
Akutagawa has been seriously wounded and is unlikely to be able to return from his mission. The blood quickly leaves his body, and he closes his eyes for the last time, falling into a dreamless sleep. Always thinking of his beloved Tiger, who now sleeps carefree and unsuspecting.
Tomorrow, Dazai will tell Nakajima the news of Ryunosuke's death. And he will regret that he was never able to confess his feelings for the owner of Rashomon.
