A ray of light in the darkness 2

Red blood cell AA2153 was dragging himself forward, sooty and battered all over. He had just barely survived the urinary tract infection. Luckily, some brave white blood cells had been nearby. The neutrophil-ladies had been fighting with such desperation that it was impossible not to admire them, and even the tiny J-1178 had been battling the enemies like a real beast!
Now, AA2153 was on his way together with his friends to fulfil their difficult task of delivering oxygen in such a neglected and problematic organism, where they had landed only recently. Life in their previous body hadn't been the easiest one either, but in this one, it was especially hard, being forced to work without sleep or any rest and nothing but meager dry rations to eat. And without even having their own place. A few times, they managed to stay at some local's home, but usually, they slept right there, on the streets, almost dropping dead from fatigue. AA2153 was not only once catching himself at the thought that he didn't care anymore where to sleep as long as he could get at least one minute of rest. Not to mention, that he now had the appearance of a tramp, dirty and with ripped clothes. And the others weren't looking any better.
In the span of some mere couple of days, they had gone through so much that it would be enough for the rest of their lives. If other erythrocytes, from a healthy body, had been in their place, some who were used to normal working conditions, they would have been dead for sure by now. But even AA2153 and his companions, who had experienced more than enough "darkness" in their old body, hadn't been ready for what would be awaiting them here. All three of them were pulling themselves together, but the fatigue kept accumulating, alternating with the stress from the horrors they were experiencing. Memories of all the catastrophes were constantly tormenting AA2153's mind, one after the other, but his biggest worry right now was, how the poor Glomeruli were doing. Were they able to overcome their madam's death? He was walking, answering his friends without really listening, and absentmindedly turning around his trophy in his hands: a katana he had found after a fight. He could swear that it belonged to U-1196, his familiar leukocyte. They had lost sight of each other right after their arrival at this neglected organism, and he hadn't seen her since. Good that at least his erythrocyte-friends stayed with him, since it would be very difficult to survive here all alone.
"So you think it's hers?" asked his kohai.
"I'm not sure," replied AA2153. "But looks like it. Besides, as far as I've managed to see, the local neutrophils here fight with other weapons. At least, I haven't seen one owning a katana like this yet."
"I see..." muttered the kohai absently, but then remembered his delivery and began to hurry, as they still had a long way ahead of them and in addiction to that, needed to make it through cholesterol plaques. And they could consider themselves lucky if there wouldn't be any blockages or unforeseen vascular spasms. AA2153 quickly wrapped the blade up and followed him.

"You're so cool, sister!" U-1196 was surrounded and admired by the local neutrophil-girls. "To defeat such a huge germ!"
"It was nothing," she humbly waved it off, nervously fumbling with her empty sheath. Just how did she manage to let go of her katana and fall into the stream? As it seemed, she had gotten kicked a bit too hard by that bacterium, that had been convulsing in agony... Despite having managed to get out of the stream, she had been swept away so far that it would be necessary to climb through the rubble all the way back in order to search for her weapon. The locals promised to get her another one, of course, but nothing could replace her own, to which her hand was used to.
Since it was dangerous to walk around without a weapon, she saw herself forced to postpone the search for her katana and go with her new colleagues to the nearest distribution point. And apart from that, she was dead tired and had to agree that she absolutely needed some rest. That was a pity, as her chances to find her faithful battle partner were diminishing the more time was passing.
And while they were at that distribution point and getting new arms, her new friend, that same tiny J-1178, invited her to stay over at her home for some time. Living with a roommate, who was so experienced in battle, would make her calmer, and she also couldn't wait to hear some interesting stories about the body where U-1196 had come from.
* * *
"Well, it's not much, of course," said J-1178, letting her enter her small, half dark room. "But this is all I can offer."
"It's okay, don't worry. Thank you," replied U-1196.
"Here!" J-1178 took out some bedclothes from a little closet that was basically falling apart. "Prepare your bed, and I go brew up some tea and make us something decent to eat. Damn, I'm so sick of these bacteria!"
While her new roommate was arranging her sleeping place, J-1178 was rummaging in the kitchen and continuing with her tirade:
"And why do we phagocytes have to eat all sorts of nasty things, anyway? Especially these bacteria. Holy capillaries, they're giving me heartburn!"
While spreading out the blanket, generously decorated with patches, U-1196 heard her rustling with something and cutting something, angrily pounding on the cutting board with the knife. As it seemed, that organism's cells were living in complete poverty, or maybe they just got too exhausted to manage their household better. But U-1196 thought that it was good to have a place to live. A place with a bed and a blanket. Full of patches, but better than nothing. After having shot another look at the masterpiece J-1178 had created with crooked stitches all over the blanket, she headed to her.
"...Chopping them into pieces, alright, I'm fine doing that, but I'd prefer to leave the eating to the macrophages," the other one was still ranting, when U-1196 arrived in the kitchen.
"True," she agreed, carefully sitting down on a crooked, desperately wobbling stool, while her new roommate was serving her a cup, filled to the brim, with a neatly glued crack directly at the rim, and a similar-looking plate with sandwiches and vegetables, somehow cut into pieces.
J-1178 looked critically at the dinner, thought "Why not?" and took a jar of olives out of the fridge, that she had saved for a special occasion. But as it seemed, she had kept it way too long: to her massive disappointment, they were completely rank. Deciding to not take any risks, the neutrophil sighed and threw them away. She slammed the door of the cupboard under the sink shut, almost breaking it off in the process, and slumped down angrily on the other stool, nearly falling to the floor. Apparently, everything in this house was already on its last legs, making U-1196 start to think again that life in the previous body hadn't been that bad after all. She calmed J-1178 down, saying that everything was great, and began to tiredly eat the not very nourishing and delicious dinner, thoughtfully staring at the kitchen's sooty ceiling. Yes, it really hadn't been that bad before... it was true that everything can be seen through comparison.
J-1178 quickly finished her meal and was chattering passionately about something. U-1196 was distractedly listening to her, while continuing to be immersed in her own thoughts, and didn't pay absolutely any attention to her new friend's enthusiastic glances. Compared to the local neutrophils, U-1196 was taller, stronger and more skilled in combat, and much more, so her new little sister was looking at her with admiration. She now definitely had someone to look up to.

Red blood cell AA2153 was once again dragging himself forward, all battered and worn out, casting sideways glances at his friends, who weren't treated any better by life. But he didn't complain, instead carrying his package without saying a word, and also the bothersome sword, tightly wrapped into a cloth.
"Senpai, are you really going to continue to carry around that sword?" asked NC8429.
"Maybe I meet Leukocyte-san on the way, then I'll give it back to her."
"Be careful to not cut yourself, that thing's awfully sharp!"
"I'll try."
Other cells had already started to make fun of him, joking that this life had turned even red blood cells into highly dangerous fellows. But jokes aside, some did like that idea, and the older local colleagues had even been about to look for the T-Helper and demand weapons as well. Times were hard, after all!
AA2153 didn't pay attention to empty talks, instead thinking again and again about everyday concerns, trying to keep his eyes on where he was going. The roads in this place were a nightmare: not only were they horribly uneven and going up and down in bumps and pits, but also meandering, and sometimes so sharply that you could easily lose any sense of direction.
Suddenly, after having turned into yet another one of these twists, AA2153 bumped into a white blood cell, who had come out of another direction, and fell down.
"Sorry," he said, putting on his glasses again. Then he raised his head and flipped out. It was her.
"I was so worried, Erythrocyte-kun!" exclaimed U-1196 and threw herself at him, wrapping her arms around his neck.
AA2153's friends, who had come out of the turn as well, were staring with opened mouths and dumbfounded at the scene of him passionately kissing a neutrophil.
"I'm so happy that you're alive!" she let out, breaking away from the kiss and crying.
"I was really worried as well," he admitted. "But look, what I've found..." He wriggled and untied the sword from his body. "It's yours, isn't it?"
"Where? Where did you find it?!" she asked with surprise, unwrapping it and clutching the familiar handle.
"After the battle in the renal pelvis," he explained. "The biggest monster had been killed with this sword, so I assumed that it had to be you." AA2153 smiled.
Everything froze inside U-1196, who hadn't even suspected that he had been that near in the most dangerous moment. At the thought that he might have died there, she almost started feeling dizzy, but tried to hide her worries, as always.
"Looks like we missed each other back then," said AA2153, who began to perceive a growing awkwardness.
"Hey, Senpai, we need to get back to work," NC8429 reminded him. BD7599 nodded in agreement.
"Guys, I'll catch you up later," said AA, blushing.
"Oh, sorry, you need to work," realized U-1196.
"But I really want to spend time with you, to talk to you... When will we get another chance like this? There is no guarantee..." He clenched his fists, thinking about how many coworkers they had lost during the last few days alone.
"I'd like to cast everything to the basophilic grandma as well and stay with you, but I can't. Alright." She opened the bag on his belt and took out his map. "Let's meet here then, after finishing our work." She pointed at a place not far from the place where she was living now.
"Be careful," begged AA2153.
"You too," she said with a nod, gave him a goodbye-kiss and quickly left, while she still had the willpower to do so.
* * *
Despite his fatigue, AA2153 wasn't going to the indicated place, but literally flying. He didn't know, how long he would need to wait for her, but was willing to do so even for an eternity.
To his pleasant surprise, U-1196 was already there, waiting for him. She happily greeted her sweet erythrocyte with hot kisses and led him to her current home.
J-1178 was understanding regarding his visit and carefully asked her new roommate, if she should leave them alone. U-1196 replied that she would be very thankful for that, so J-1178 said that it would be no problem for her and left, to spend the night at a coworker's home.
When the two of them were alone, U-1196 undressed without further ado, presenting AA2153's eyes once again her well-shaped figure and her wonderful lush breasts he had been yearning for so much. Well, to be honest, he had been yearning for everything regarding her without any exception, but at that fantastic sight, he immediately felt a hot wave sweeping over him and got aroused. Regardless of his horrible exhaustion and all the stress he had gone through, he felt himself ready to make love the entire night on end. Their last time had been so long ago, still in his tiny room on that old, creaking bed. So long ago as if it had been in a past life.
He hurriedly took off his clothes and toppled U-1196 on the yellowed mattress. She hugged him close and stroked him, whispering:
"I missed you so much." U-1196 ran her hand over his hot back, feeling that he had gotten more mature and muscular. "So much," she repeated, burying her nose in his hair. "Without you, the world seemed to be immersed in darkness."
"And I was so afraid of losing you," replied the erythrocyte and, not believing his own bravery, attacked her with hot kisses. U-1196 wanted to be on top, like she used to in the past, but happily yielded to him, surrendering to his hasty caresses.
AA2153 was randomly kissing her, in a hurry, as if he feared that someone would take his lover away, basically rip her out from under him, feared that another stupid alarm would go off any moment, like it was constantly doing there day after day, and force them to part again. If something like that should happen, then there wouldn't be any guarantee that nothing would happen to them and that they would meet again, finding themselves in the same bed...
"We should take a shower," realized U-1196. "But it doesn't work here, as it seems," she said as though apologizing.
"No problem..." AA2153 interrupted her heatedly. "It's okay like this... Sorry, I can't wait any longer," he let out with fervor and suddenly entered her.
U-1196, who didn't expect such pressure, was pleasantly surprised from his transformation. Back then, he used to be so shy and undetermined that she constantly had to take the initiative herself. Near the end of each date, he got a bit braver though, but every next time hesitating again and blushing from head to toe while they were undressing and starting to caress each other.
Now, however, AA2153 started right off the bat with full power, so that U-1196 couldn't do anything else than to shout out in delight and to buckle under him. The heaviness began leaving bit by bit, and in her lower abdomen, an amazing pleasantness was overflowing, in whose center her lover was wielding a sharp blade of pleasure. To her bewilderment, U-1196 felt herself about to reach the peak any moment, even though they just had started. AA2153 was seriously going at it, lifting her legs higher and higher and, in a fit of passion, penetrated her to the very core. U-1196 thought that she would go crazy from all this, but tried to control herself with all her might.
Soon, AA2153 cried out deafeningly and collapsed on top of her without any strength left, but still didn't leave his partner's womb, not wanting to part with her even for a second.
"Tired?" asked U-1196, stroking his head. Despite the turbulent start, she didn't manage to finish after all, but didn't mind that. Even without this, she still really enjoyed being with him.
AA2153 looked at her with a cloudy gaze and, feeling that he hadn't gotten things done, immediately tried to pull himself together.
"That's not all! I'm capable of much more!" he affirmed with the same fanatic shine in his eyes she had seen during the rush at work. Well, he wasn't ranked among the very best deliverymen for nothing.
"You have to rest," she exhorted. "No need to hurry, we still have the entire night."
"I need to follow through," he insisted in a serious tone and, surprising his partner even more, suddenly turned her over, placing her on all fours.
"Ah!" U-1196 gasped, feeling him getting hard inside her again and gather new strength. She raised herself on her knees and leaned with her backside towards him, really liking that pose, since in it, it wasn't necessary to hold back any passion, to which she abandoned herself completely.
Holding U-1196 by her bottom, AA2153 was thrusting into her like crazy, digging into her really hard. Soon, he was so into it that he absolutely couldn't stop anymore, giving U-1196 unforgettable pleasure that was exploding again and again in the blinding light of an orgasm, like fireworks. As soon as AA2153 was burnt out, she forgot her own recent request to rest and attacked him herself, riding him until they both passed out.
First the first time in a long while, they sank into an undisturbed sleep in each other's arms. All their fears and worries were gone. They didn't care about all the horrors and griefs, pressuring onto them, anymore, neither about the dangers that might await them in the future. Now they were in absolute peace and confident that they were doing everything right, that they could handle anything.
And even if the world, where they had landed, was to be enveloped by an even more impenetrable gloominess, if they were to believe that all hope was gone and walk close to the brink of death every day and every hour, their love would still continue to be their guiding ray of light in that darkness. It would grow and expand to such an extent that it would be able to illuminate the entire organism. It would allow them to grow wings and inspire and guide the others, forcing them to not lose heart and believe that, some day, this world would get better.
